Peninsula golf course opened in 1921.
The course has a tree lined setting with beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The Peninsula Golf Club Golf Course features small and well-sloped greens. There aren't too many sand bunkers on the course, and water hazards only come into play on couple of holes. However, numerous mature trees line the fairways, so shot accuracy is still essential. From the back tees, the par 72 course is 6,334 yards long and is rated at 70.7 with a slope of 121. Fairways are generous and have a moderate Scottish links flavor. Breaking putts on smaller greens will challenge you. The weather in Port Angeles is cool (65F - 75F) in the summer (marine moderated) and in the winter they have less rain than Seattle and more sunny days!

Interesting course built on the side of a hill. Take a cart if you're not really into walking. First glance makes you want to dismiss this course, but if you do, you'll miss an entertaining round of golf. Play here about three times a year; private course that has some days open to the public. It really is a challenging layout and the greens are always immaculate. The more you play this course, the more you appreciate it.

Update my review from 2012. Played the course twice this summer. Price was a bit higher than I would have liked, played with some golfing buddies I played with prior to my back surgery. With the water shortage in this area, the fairways were very dry, but greens were in excellent condition and this is one of the strong points of this course. It's challenging, but you can score well with a little accuracy. Something about this course just appeals to me.
